Sensand accelerates digital farming with funding injection

Australia's digital farming sector takes a significant leap forward as tech pioneer Sensand secures a $6 million funding injection. The funding, provided by high-profile businessman Robert Costa, Chairman of goFARM and Costa Asset Management, empowers Sensand to fast-track the development of a groundbreaking platform. This innovative platform integrates agricultural land management, carbon project operations, and environmental markets, creating a world-leading solution.

Sensand's Blockbase and Mintly technology platforms are set to revolutionise the industry. Blockbase allows farmers and landowners to measure and validate carbon sequestration, providing insights into the environmental impacts of their practices. Mintly, on the other hand, enables market participants to leverage this data, offering high-quality carbon credits to global carbon markets.

Sensand recently accomplished a significant milestone by completing three trades on Mintly, totalling over 100,000 tonnes of international voluntary carbon credits worth more than $600,000. This success further validates Sensand's platform and its disruptive potential.

CEO Peter Moulton expresses gratitude for the funding, emphasising its significance as an endorsement from a leading environmental investor. Sensand's technology ensures transparent reporting and data integrity throughout the carbon land management lifecycle. By gathering data from various sources such as satellites, weather stations, drones, and in-ground sensors, Blockbase accurately measures, reports, and verifies carbon abatement.

Mintly, the interconnected platform, empowers landowners to diversify their income by selling high-quality carbon credits derived from their land. Sensand's integration with Fire Blocks, a digital asset custody technology provider, further enhances the platform's scalability and security.

Sensand's goal is to simplify the creation of high-quality, data-backed credits for landowners and managers, providing transparency and credibility. The platform also offers record-keeping for carbon credit buyers and facilitates due diligence for brokers, auditors, and registries. This cutting-edge technology will elevate the verification and marketing of net-zero claims, streamlining the creation, sale, and retirement of carbon credits.
